Is NA for You?

Addiction is a disease that can happen to anyone.  Some used drugs because we enjoyed them, while others used to suppress the feelings we already had.  Still others suffered from physical or mental ailments and became addicted to the medication prescribed during our illnesses.

Excerpt from Narcotics Anonymous IP #16 For the Newcomer

Is NA for you? This is a question that every potential member must answer for themselves. It may help to read some of our informational pamphlets (IPs), starting with IP#7 "Am I an Addict" and IP#22 "Welcome to NA."

If you think you have a drug problem, NA can help. "Narcotics Anonymous offers recovery to addicts around the world. We focus on the disease of addiction rather than any particular drug.  Our message is broad enough to attract addicts from any social class or nationality. When new members come to meetings, our sole interest is in their desire for freedom from active addiction and how we can be of help." (It Works: How and Why, “Third Tradition”)
